Ogyeahoho commends govt for projects - Appeals for university in Bibiani
The Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll, has commended the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration for the monumental projects brought to the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality in the Western North Region within the last seven years in office.

Ogyeahoho Gyebi, who doubles as the President of the National House of Chiefs, mentioned the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Senior High School at Awaso, University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) satellite campus in Bibiani and Bibiani College of Health and Allied Sciences satellite campus at Sefwi Anhwiaso in the municipality as some of the projects that had provided a conducive environment for teaching and learning.
Appeal for university
The Paramount Chief said these were a testament of the good works of the government but made an appeal to the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to establish a university in the municipality should he become the next President.
Ogyeahoho Gyebi said that when Dr Bawumia and his campaign team paid a courtesy call on him as part of a three-day tour of the Western North Region.
The Paramount Chief indicated that the municipality had now become a mining hub following the operations of four mining companies within the area and stressed the need for the establishment of a university in the municipality to meet the human resources needs of the mining industry.
He expressed appreciation to Dr Bawumia for engaging in a decent campaign and requested him to complete the Bibiani town roads before December 7.
Another term
Dr Bawumia, for his part, said the NPP government had performed exceptional and deserved another term to continue with the good works.
He urged Ghanaians not to vote for former President John Mahama, whom, he described, as second-hand President and retain the NPP government in power to continue the good policies and development projects ongoing in the various regions.

He further explained that the current state of development and strategic policies in the country, voting for any other party during the election would truncate those initiatives, which were transforming the nation.
He mentioned the introduction of Free Senior High School policy, one constituency, one ambulance, the restoration of teacher trainees and nurses allowance, the creation of six new regions, Ghana Card, Agenda 111, Cocoa Pollination, the construction of artificial pitches, the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) as some of the promises made to Ghanaians that they had delivered.
He announced that the next NPP government, under his leadership, would introduce Credit Score System, Loans for Women Empowerment, Free Tertiary Education for persons with disabilities (PWDs).
He also assured Ghanaians of a 50 per cent reduction in light bill and promised an addition of 2000mega watt of solar energy to compliment the current power generation.
The incumbent NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Alfred Obeng Boateng, pleaded with traditional leaders, the clergy, and particularly the electorates, not to buy into the ‘skirt and blouse’ campaign by the opposition and vote him as their MP for the area and Dr Bawumia as the next President to develop the country.
