Give me the necessary support - Nyarni Stephen
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga South, Mr Joseph Nyarni Stephen, has called for support from assembly members, staff and stakeholders to give him the necessary support to champion the development of the municipality.
Mr Stephen said as one of the sprawling and fastest-growing areas within the Accra metropolitan area, it had advantages and challenges which must be surmounted and exploited for the benefit of the residents of the area.

At a special meeting during which he was overwhelmingly endorsed by assembly members last Friday, Mr Stephen said his endorsement called for total support from all stakeholders, adding that they had a vital role in enhancing governance in the municipality.
He said the strategic location of the municipality between the Central Region and the rest of the Accra Metropolitan Area made it unique and a hub for business activities which must be harnessed for the benefit of residents.
Provision of infrastructure
Mr Stephen said his administration would pursue an open-door policy and welcome suggestions and contributions from all stakeholders to bring local government to the doorstep of residents.
He stressed the need to provide infrastructure for education, health, roads, markets and other social amenities for the young municipality to enable it to stand on its own, adding that it called for efficient and effective revenue mobilisation and urged revenue collection agents to assist in the internal revenue generation drive to raise the needed funds for projects.
He advised residents to uphold good sanitation and sound environmental practices to prevent avoidable diseases.
The MCE urged traditional leaders in the municipality to avoid chieftaincy disputes and the use of land guards to harass developers to ensure peace and attract investment and estate developers for the development of the area.
