Haruna Iddrisu to contest unopposed?
Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South in the Northern Region, Haruna Iddrisu, is likely to contest unopposed in the impending National Democratic Congress (NDC) primary.
Unlike the Tamale Central and Mion constituencies where incumbents Alhaji Inusah Fuseini and Dr Ahmed Alhassan Yakubu are facing stiff competition, reports show Haruna Iddrisu is likely not to face any challenge.
He is expected to be endorsed by popular acclamation on November 7 when the party organises both parliamentary and presidential primaries.
Meanwhile, the MP, who had gone unopposed three consecutive times in the constituency primaries of the party, expressed optimism that he would be retained and re-elected to represent the people of Tamale South in Parliament come the 2016 general election.
He stated that his credibility, visibility and accessibility would be the factors that would ensure his victory and that of President John Dramani Mahama in 2016.
