Lawyer Addison launches 2016 campaign

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for the Klottey Korley Constituency, Mr Philip Kojo Addison, has launched his 2016 election campaign with a call on party faithful and sympathisers to unite and vote massively for him in this year’s election.

He has also charged them to put all bitterness and misunderstanding behind them and forge a common agenda for the party in the constituency.

In his view, if that was done, the party stood a greater chance of grabbing the seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“I am ready to work with everyone in the constituency since we cannot win the seat with a divided front,” Mr Addison, otherwise known as Lawyer Addison, pledged when he launched his campaign in Accra last week Friday..

Unity

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, the First Vice Chairman for the constituency, Alhaji Aliu Kabe, said the party was united to wrest power from the NDC.

According to him, a lot of progress had been made to help convince Mr Valentino Nii Noi Nortey to rescind his decision to run as independent candidate.

“A committee has been set up by the region to try and convince Nii Noi Nortey to join hands with Mr Addison to win the seat for the party.

“We are all working for the party, and must not allow our personal interest to override that of the party,” he said.

As part of the constituency executive efforts in restoring peace, Alhaji Kabir stated that they had been touring the constituency to speak to all factions to come together.

Health walk

Earlier  Friday last week, Mr Addison and some party supporters in the constituency embarked on a health walk through some principal streets of Adabraka and Osu to appeal to voters.

The health walk was attended by some party bigwigs together with the past and current constituency executives.

As early as 7a.m, supporters clad in party colours converged at the Akufo-Addo Chambers at Adabraka in Accra to begin the walk.

They sang and chanted words of songs to show their support for Mr Addison, while others virtually became apostles preaching peace during the exercise.

Supporters

Some supporters expressed optimism about Mr Addison’s win and ruled out the possibility of disunity to mar his chances.

“I think all aggrieved parties must unite and join Mr Addison to win this seat for the NPP in this year’s election,” one supporter told the Daily Graphic.
