Liberal Party of Ghana promises to put money into people’s pockets in 2024 manifesto
The Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) is gearing up to unveil its 2024 election manifesto on September 21, with a primary focus on “putting money into people’s pockets.”

The manifesto, which will be launched in Ho, the Volta Regional capital at the Ola Senior High School, promises a range of financial benefits aimed at alleviating poverty and improving the standard of living for Ghanaians.
The party’s founder and leader, Percival Kofi Akpaloo in an interview with GraphicOnline said the manifesto will introduce several initiatives designed to provide direct financial support to citizens. Among these is a proposal to give every child under 18 years a monthly allowance of GH¢500.00, with twins receiving GH¢750.00 each.
Additionally, the LPG plans to implement an unemployment benefit programme, offering GH¢700.00 monthly to those who have never been employed and proportional payments to those who have contributed to the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).
Mr. Akpaloo emphasized that the party’s policies are focused on improving the financial well-being of Ghanaians. "Our aim is to ensure that everyone has money in their pockets, which will not only improve individual lives but also stimulate the economy as a whole," he said.
He also reiterated the party’s commitment to free university education for all citizens if elected, stating that no Ghanaian should be excluded from accessing higher education. Additionally, the LPG plans to prioritize job creation through the establishment of a US$10 billion job fund to support entrepreneurs and start-ups.
Mr. Akpaloo stressed that these financial initiatives are central to the party's vision for a prosperous Ghana, promising that the LPG will transform the economy and provide hope for the future. “We believe that by investing in people’s financial stability, we can eradicate poverty and create a brighter future for all Ghanaians,” he said.
On how such initiatives would be funded, Mr. Akpaloo said: "The monies are not going to be dollars, they are cedis and the state controls the cedis and the state knows what quantity of the cedis has to go out at any time".

He added: "When Biden became President of the United States, he stimulated the economy with similar policies, he gave people money and nobody questioned him where he was going to get the money from, so why is it difficult for us to give 500 cedis to our people, it is not going to be difficult".
