According to the MP, the presentation was to support the ward co-ordinators towards achieving the “Agenda 45,000 votes.”

The Lower Manya Krobo Constituency has drawn up a programme aimed at supporting the Eastern Regional “Agenda 50 50” of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 general election.

Mr Terlabi, at the handover of the motorbikes to the NDC Constituency Chairman, Mr David Walter Hormenu, said he was aware of the sacrifices the party executive members and the ward co-ordinators were making towards the “Agenda 45,000 votes.”

Appreciation

He said the motorbikes were just a token to show his appreciation and urged them to do more in the interest of the party.

“I know your desire and quest to increase the votes massively in the constituency come next year’s general election. I want you to use the motorbikes and move to the rural areas and the grass roots and disseminate the messages of the good work of President Mahama and the party’s agenda towards next year,” Mr Terlabi stressed.

Mr Hormemu expressed the profound gratitude to the MP for what he termed an unprecedented gesture in the history of the party in Lower Manya Krobo.

He assured the MP that the motorbikes would be used for the intended purpose to enhance the party’s 2016 agenda in the constituency.

Facilities

In a related development, the MP also presented solar lanterns to health facilities, including Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compounds and educational institutions, to help them have a source of light to do their work during blackouts.

Teachers at Wawase, Obelemanya, Abobeng, Djekiti and other rural communities without electricity all benefitted from the MP’s gesture.

The MP urged teachers in the rural communities in his constituency to make good use of the solar lanterns in writing their teaching notes to enable them to deliver quality teaching to improve the results of their various schools.

A staff nurse of the Atua Government Hospital, Ms Priscilla Amenya, who received the lanterns on behalf of management, thanked the MP, and expressed the hope that the hospital would receive more of such items from the MP for quality healthcare delivery.
