NDC enlarges congress, changes 'Propaganda Secretary' to 'Communication Officer'

The Ken Dzirasah-led Constitutional Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has successfully steered a wide ranging constitutional review of the party's constitution, expanding the highest decision making body of the party from the current less than 4,000 to nearly nearly 250,000.

Consequently, the highest decision making body has endorsed the changes which include the changing of the Propaganda Secretary title to Communication Officers at the national, regional and constituency levels. 

Surrounded by other members of the Constitutional Committee, Ken Dzirasah announced that the party has also expanded all other election and decision making bodies from the ward to the constitutional, regional and national levels. The party has also established a permanent national elections directorate as well as elections committees.

The changes were announced at the 8th national delegates congress of the party currently ongoing at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the Garden City of Kumasi.

Explaining, Mr Bede Ziedeng, a member of the committee said the ultimate aim of the party was to ensure that all registered members of the NDC in good standing should decide who leads the party as its presidential candidate, national executive members, regional leaders, parliamentary candidates and ward executives.
