Pokuase holds community forum

The Presiding Member of the Ga West Municipal Assembly, Mr Daniel Darko Dodoo, has advised  assembly and unit committee aspirants to refrain from insults and negative campaigning.

Rather, he said, aspirants ought to tell the people how they intended to serve their communities.

Addressing a forum at Pokuase/Djaman in the Ga West Municipality to sensitise them to the new set of bye-laws promulgated by the assembly recently, he urged the people to respect the laws of the country and help to ensure compliance for rapid development of their area.

Mr Dodoo was emphatic that henceforth, all night activities with excessive music would cease after 10.00 p.m, asking music operators and organisers of events like naming ceremony and wake to take note of the new bye-laws.

He expressed the hope that the new arrangement would help raise academic performance, and reduce drug abuse and teenage pregnancies.

The well attended forum was under the Chairmanship of the Pokuase Manye, Naa Densua III and Nii Onamansuro I, Akutsontse, Togbe Kobla Oklu of the Ewe community and representatives of churches and associations. The forum was preceded by a massive clean-up exercise the previous day.

The presiding member, who is known by  many as “Triple D”, explained that his decision  to not contest the forthcoming assembly elections was to allow for a new direction in the management of the area.
