President Mahama to engage media on his policies on Wednesday
The Presidency has announced that President John Dramani Mahama will host a media encounter on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, to engage the nation on his administration's policies and address pressing national issues.
The encounter, scheduled to take place at the Jubilee House at 8:00 pm, is expected to provide a platform for the President to directly communicate his "Resetting Ghana" agenda and provide updates on various ongoing government projects.
A statement issued on Monday by the Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, indicated that the event would also offer journalists a rare opportunity to pose questions directly to the President on a wide range of subjects affecting the nation.
"The encounter will provide a unique platform for President Mahama to engage the Ghanaian people, through the media, on pressing national issues, his Resetting Ghana Agenda, policies and ongoing projects," the statement read.
It further indicated that participation in the high-profile event "will be strictly by accreditation," urging media houses to follow the requisite procedures to secure access for their representatives.
"The Presidency looks forward to a productive and engaging session with the media," the statement added.
The upcoming encounter will be the first major open forum where the President will take questions from the press corps since the beginning of his term, and it is anticipated that journalists will seek clarity on government policy in areas such as the economy, energy, infrastructure, and social intervention programmes.
All accredited media personnel are expected to be seated by 7:30 pm for the event which commences at 8:00 pm prompt.
