Rawlings' death: NPP parliamentary candidate for Korle Klottey suspends campaign
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Korle Klottey Constituency, Prince Appiah Debrah, who is running against the daughter of former President Jerry John Rawlings has announced a week-long suspension of his campaign in honour of the former President who died Thursday morning.
Mr Debrah, a legal practitioner was at the residence of the former President to commiserate with his family.
He was, however, not granted access to the Rawlings’ residence by security personnel.

According to him, the security explained that they could not grant him access because members of the Rawlings’ household were not around.
He told GraphicOnline that as someone who grew up in Osu, the news of Rawlings’ demise hit him hard.
"I was campaigning when I heard the news. After I heard the news, I had no choice than to come around and pay my last respects. We all know what Rawlings stood for and these are virtues that many Ghanaians aspire to,” he told Graphic Online.
former President Jerry John Rawlings died on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Mr Rawlings had been on admission at Korle Bu for about a week for an undisclosed ailment.
Graphic Online gathers he felt sick after his mother's burial about three weeks ago.

Mr Rawlings was born on June 22, 1947. He was 73-years-old.
