
Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi nominated for consideration as Kumasi Mayor in second batch of MMDCE nominations
Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi has been nominated as the Mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.
His name was part of the list of 81 nominees for consideration for appointment as chief executives of metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (MMDAs) in eight regions released on Friday, April 4, 2025.
Their nominations by President John Dramani Mahama is pending approval from their respective assemblies.
It is the second batch of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assembly (MMDA) Chief Executive nominees, consisting of 81 persons.
In a statement dated April 4, 2024, signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, and copied to the Minister of Local Government, Ahmed Ibrahim, the list included nominees for selected MMDAs across nine regions.
The Ashanti Region saw one nominee appointed for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi.
This recent announcement follows the release of the first cohort of 71 nominees, named by the President on March 27, 2025.
This brings the total number of named MMDA Chief Executive nominees to 153.
There are a total of 261 MMDAs.
