Talensi by-election: Why voting started late at some centres

Voting in a number of polling centres in the Talensi by-election started behind late due to the setting up of electoral materials at the various centres, reports Graphiconline’s Alhamdu Hamid.

At the Winkogo Primary A polling centre where a total of 441 people are expected to vote. Voting started at 7:52 am but the presiding officer Mr David Atanga said as at 5:00 am they had already arrived with electoral materials but going through the process made them to start late. 

At the Winkojo Primary B, voting started around 7:50 am with 539 expected to cast their vote. The Presiding officer Madam Duanab Augustina also gave the same reason for the late start but said voting was currently going on smoothly as they were facing no challenges. 

Turn out at both polling centres have been very impressive as people started queuing as early as 5:30 am and waited patiently for the poll to start.
