Bonsuoku Rainbow Stars win gala competition

Bonsuoku Rainbow Stars last Saturday defeated Obis FC  2-1 in the finals to lift this year’s “Senya Beraku Akomase Festival football  gala trophy ”, at the Senya Beraku Park.

The competition was  organised by Mr .George Andah, who is  the Parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Awutu Senya West Constituency, .

It  started last Friday with 16 registered clubs within the Senya district, but  it was Bonsuoku Stars whose splendid performance throughout the tournament  enabled them to overpower all opponents that came their way to claim the final glory.

During the finals against Obis FC, playmaker of  Rainbow Stars, James Essel, scored two sublime free kicks in both halfs , while  Ebo Chuku of Obis FC, converted a penalty spot to score a consolation for his team. 

For their victory, Bonsuoko Stars received a trophy and a cash price of GH¢200, together with a football, whilst Obis FC were also given GH¢100 and a football.

The third place match was between Monday Stars and Season Brain, which ended 4-2 in favour of Monday Stars, who also received GH¢80 for their effort.

In his address Mr.  Andah called on the youth in the Senya to resist any form of violence during the December general elections. He challenged them to  focus on their careers to enable them to become responsible citizens in future.
