Ezekiel Tetteh shows class in Sudan

Former Accra Hearts of Oak and Okwawu United striker, Ezekiel Tetteh, has taken over the Sudanese league by storm, scoring an impressive 13 goals in 15 matches for his team, Al-Amal SC Atbara.

Tetteh, currently the second highest scorer in the Sudanese League after the first round, also provided three assists to lift Al-Amal SC Atbara to the eighth place on the league table.

The burly striker has scored 13 of his club's 17 goals in the league since his arrival from Iraqi side, Kirkuk SC, where he had a short spell.

The 24-year-old told the Graphic Sports in an interview last Saturday that he held no grudges against fans who were critical of him during his injury-plagued stint with Hearts.

"I was injured back then but now, I am fit and I am producing goals and the Sudanese people are delighted with me," Tetteh stated.

“I always look forward, I don't hold grudges against my critics, they just challenge me and now I am the second-highest scorer in Sudan and things are going well", he added.

Asked what transformed his play so much now compared to his days in the Ghana Premier League, the shy striker explained that he had overcome his injury worries and was now realizing his full potential.

"Those were trying times, and the fans didn't really know my worth. Of course,  I was not delivering then because it was difficult playing with frequent injuries but now that I’m fully-fit, things have changed.

“The goals keep coming’ l keep telling myself: there must be a way to make my Ghanaian fans happy again. I believe this is only the beginning, they will surely see me again because I am still young", he stated.

Tetteh said the Sudanese League was very competitive and suggested to the technical handlers of the national team to occasionally direct their attention there to monitor talented Ghanaian players.
