Hearts for showdown with SSNIT?

Only a few weeks after Accra Hearts of Oak had been directed to pay their former coach, David Duncan, an amount of GHc86,000 for wrongful dismissal, they are set for another showdown with the nation’s premier pensions scheme, Social Security and National Insurance Trust(SSNIT).

The Phobians are said to have failed in their obligations to pay Duncan’s contributions to SSNIT as stipulated in his contract with the club.

But the club’s Public Relations Officer(PRO), Muheeb Saeed, in an interview with the Graphic Sports said they were ready to fulfill their obligation on behalf of  Duncan even though he claimed he was not aware of any such obligation in the contract between Hearts and the former coach.

He insisted that the Phobians were yet to be formally informed by SSNIT over the unpaid contributions to Duncan.

There have been an intense disagreement between the two parties since they parted ways which culminated in Duncan dragging the management of Hearts to the Status Committee of the Ghana Football Association(GFA).
