Kotoko-Veria match now Jan 3

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has now given the all-clear for Asante Kototo to play Greek side, Veria FC, in their first international match in 34 years at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, January 3, next year.

A letter from the GFA to the organisers signed by Deputy General Secretary, Isaac Addo, said the FA had sanctioned the match for January 3.

The November match was called off at the last minute because of the Black Stars-Comoros qualifier at the same venue on November 17.

The FA, at the time, said they believed the Kotoko programme could conflict with the training schedule of the Stars, as well as the visitors and could further put pressure on the turf before the Stars match.

The CEO of Pacific Football Limited, Eric Oppong Yeboah, is excited about the development and has stepped up preparation to welcome the Greek side on January 2, a day before kick-off.

The match is to climax the 80th anniversary celebration of Kotoko
