Medeama pip Kotoko to FA Cup
The dreams of League Champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko to add the MTN FA Cup to their honours and thus clock a double this year came crushing on Sunday at the feet of Medeama SC's Theophilus Anobaah whose half volley from close range with virtually the last kick of first half sealed a historic win for his young club.
The arcing shot that produced the only goal saw a fruitless attempt by Asante Kotoko's Soulama Abdulai in post to parry away, leaving Medeama with what elated coach Evans Adottey was sufficient reward for hard work in the season, especially after missing out narrowly on the league diadem.
The MTN FA Cup which fetched GH₵30,000 in prize money, is Medeama's first major trophy in their 3-year history and sends them into Africa to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
