The club has given its sponsor an assurance to perform well in their maiden continental campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.

A few days ago, the management and players of Medeama visited the offices of Gold Fields Ghana at Tarkwa to present the MTN FA Cup to them.  The delegation was led by the club’s President, Mr Moses Armah, and included the Executive vice-president, Albert Commey Aryeetey.

Gold Fields’s CEO, Nick Holland, received the Medeama delegation and expressed the company’s appreciation for Medeama’s exploits in winning their first major title since joining the elite division, as well as being the first club from Tarkwa to accomplish  such a feat. He charged the team to go for the ultimate in Africa, saying Gold fields Ghana would strengthen their support for the club.

Mr Aryeetey, on behalf of the club, thanked Gold Fields for the tremendous support and also for transporting 500 of their workers from Tarkwa to Accra to support the team during the MTN FA Cup final against Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Mr Armah later presented one of the FA Cup gold medals to Mr Holland as the number one sponsor of the club’s success story.

Meanwhile, the chiefs and people of Dompim, near Tarkwa in the Western Region, have indicated their willingness and desire to use football as a tool for development, which would open up Dompim and showcase the raw football talents that abound in the community.

The Omanhene of Dompim, Odiasempa Nana Kweku Nkrumah IV, praised Medeama for bracing all odds to win the second most important trophy in Ghana football and said the club’s FA Cup triumph had brought about unity and togetherness in the area, as both young and old watched with pride the MTN FA Cup final.

He appealed to the management of the club to draw closer “home” and pledged to give out parcels of land for the construction of a playing field among others.
