Okumaning Estate are champs

The Ghana Oil Palm Development Company (GOPDC) has organised an inter-departmental soccer gala competition at Kwae in the Eastern Region with Okumaning Estate  emerging overall winners of the competition.

They took home the Gold Cup donated by the company after beating  Kwae Agricultural Department 2-0 in the final.

Okumaning qualified for the finals after beating Kenthouse Security Services 2-0 while the runners-up made it to the final when they beat Mill Refinery 2-0, all at the semi-finals.

Thomas Appiagyei, the goalkeeper of Okumaning, was voted the best player of the competition.

Alhaji Bashiru Manu, the company’s community relations officer, congratulated the winners and all the participating teams ontheir display of sportsmanship, noting that the players had potential to further devlop their talents.
