The scoreline moves Olympics from the relegation zone in a game that was marred by some controversial decisions by referee Seidu Bomison and second assistant Eric Owusu Mensah.

In the end both teams ended the game with 10 men as Olympics Joshua Oninku and Amankwa Caleb of WAFA were given the marching off orders by the referee.

WAFA exhibited some delightful passing game in the early part of the game but lacked the bite to break the back of the homesters.

Five minutes after recess, striker Kwame Boateng was brought down at the edge of the box and the resultant free-kick was powered into the net by skipper Attram for the opener.

In the 75th minute, Oly attacker Isaac Nyarko was brought down in what appeared to be an incident outside the box but referee Bomison whistled for a penalty which was wasted by Attram.

But five minutes later Attram atoned for his miss when he dribbled past three defenders before unleashing a low drive to the far corner of the net with WAFA’s goalkeeper, Felix Annan, completely out of contention.

WAFA’s woes were further deepened when winger Caleb Amankwah was sent off after escaping a ferocious attack from defender Benjamin Arthur and accidentally landing on his face with his boots.

Two minutes later Oly’s Joshua Oniku also went out after he brought down an attacker in the midfield. The homesters held on until the referee blew the final whistle.
