Swimming: Jackson exits Olympics despite setting new national record

Despite winning the heats, the 21-year-old missed the qualifying time by two seconds and must watch the next stage from the stands.

His time of 53.39 seconds is a new national record in the 100m Butterfly and this is the second time he is representing the country in the Olympics.  

Jackson, one of Ghana’s medal hopefuls was one of two swimmers from Ghana, with Unilez Takyi set to compete on Friday in the 50m freestyle swimming.
