2 former Hearts men for Medeama

Tarkwa-based Medeama FC, in a bid to launch a successful Africa onslaught, have lured two former Hearts of Oak stalwarts, Alhaji Sulemana Braimah, aka Alhaji Hearts, a former director of the club, and former administrative manager of Hearts, Ashford Tettey Oku, into  the  fray  to realise their aspirations.
Medeama FC won the MTN/FA Cup two months ago after beating Kumasi Asante Kotoko 1-0 in the final at the Accra Sports Stadium and gained the right to represent Ghana at the next CAF Confederation Cup.

The two were part of Hearts continental campaigns in the period between 1995 and 2006, which saw the Phobians annex the prestigious Africa Champions League, the Super Cup and the CAF Confederation Cup in the years 2000, 2001 and 2005 respectively, and have the necessary experience and exposure to contribute to the team’s Africa campaign.

Both Alhaji Hearts and Ashford have been named in the club’s Africa Cup Committee, which is being chaired by Dr. Toni Aubynn, president of the Ghana Chamber of Mines.

Albert Commey, vice chairman of Medeama, told the Graphic Sports yesterday that the club intended to make a huge impact in Africa next year and, thus, needed to assemble all the necessary human resource available.
