Players of 4 Garrison Tennis Club in Kumasi extended their invincibility to the Eastern region where they whitewashed Koforidua Tennis Club 11-4 in a special May Day tennis competition.

The team put up one of the stellar performances in recent times by first defeating the host team 6-1 in the singles, before dismissing them with a 5-3 win in the doubles.

Surprisingly, the anchor man of the 4 Garrison team and president of the club, Samuel Ampadu-Kyei, was the only person who lost his singles game, although he performed creditably during the match.

He bowed 6-7 to Nelson Boadi  in a marathon game, described as one of the best games in the competition.

One of the former national team players and student of Kumasi Poly, Jeff Baggerdeshi, set the ball rolling with a 7-5 win over Wisdom Ofoe, while Joshua Duah gave 4 Garrison their highest score with 7-2 thrashing of Isaac Attor.

The speed exhibited by Samuel Aidoo, Mohammed Zakari, Francis Akpese and Henry Osei from 4 Garrison made it impossible for the visiting team to cope with, obviously leading to their victory.
