Mr Commey said management would seek to revamp the team ahead of a tight schedule next season when they will compete in the Premier League, MTN FA Cup, as well as the CAF Champions League.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports, the Aduana CEO said the club was ready to participate in their second Champions League as Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang- Badu II, was committed to financing their bid to make an impact at the continental stage.

"We are looking forward to having a good preparation at the beginning of the new season for the CAF Champions League.

Our target is to get to the group stage first and then see what happens.

"There is a whole lot that we need to do ahead of our next campaign just like improving our team and we will definitely look at that.

As for financing, our bankroller is ready and committed to seeing us have a successful participation," Mr Commey said. Aduana got the nod to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League next season after winning the just-ended 2016/2017 Premier League title.

Ghanaian clubs have failed to make a significant impact at the continental stage in recent times, with Wa All Stars being the latest to exit in the competition at the preliminary stage of the competition in this year’s edition.

However, Mr Commey assured Ghanaians of a better performance from Aduana Stars this time round and said his outfit was looking forward to giving the Nana Agyemang Badu Park at Dormaa-Ahenkro a facelift for the CAF Champions League.

Meanwhile, Aduana Stars will be formally crowned winners of this year's league on Sunday when the Premier League Board (PLB) honours them with the trophy, 50 gold medals and a cash prize of $30,000 at a coronation match against Berekum Chelsea.

The owner and bankroller of the club, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, will be in attendance, alongside other traditional rulers, ministers, parliamentarians, businessmen, as well as football administrators, as Candy Ladies face Ampem Darkoa Ladies in a curtain-raiser.

According to the chairman of the PLB, Ashford Tettey Oku, his outfit and Aduana Stars had agreed on a free attendance for children, students and women on the historic occasion which will attract a flat rate of GH10.
