The Black Eagles, as Ghana’s team, are nicknamed, beat their Beninois counterparts 46-5 on the first day of the 2017 Rugby African Regional Challenge at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Though disappointed by his side’s loss,  Kossou was nonetheless full of praise for the Ghana team, describing them as being “potent and strong offensively.”

“Ghana has a very good team. Their transition from defence to attack is excellent. Their forwards are very good and defensively they are solid".

"We mapped up strategies to stop them but the Ghanaians were too good,” the disappointed Benin coach remarked through an interpreter.

His skipper, on the other hand, expressed disappointment at how his mates played and hoped that they get a favourable result tomorrow against Togo who were due to arrive in Ghana yesterday.

Ghana, Benin and Togo are battling for qualification to the next stage of the Rugby Africa Regional Challenge in a round-robin tournament.

Benin will come up against Togo tomorrow, while Ghana will have to wait till Sunday, to have their turn against Togo.
