The competition, organised by the Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (GBFA), is the biggest bodybuilding championship in the country  competed in three weight divisions namely, lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight.

Anun won the heavyweight division, the best dance pose, most muscular athlete, and the most coveted award of the night.

William Osei Kankam and Michael Antwi, who won the lightweight and middleweight contests respectively joined heavyweight winner,  Anum, to compete for the overall Man Ghana contest which, the latter won after a hot contest.

In an interview with Graphic Sports, the GBFA president, Abdul-Hayye Yartey, disclosed  that the first three winners from each weight category would form a nine-member national team (Black Muscles)  to  represent the country in both the upcoming Amateur Olympia in South Africa next month and the IFBB Men World Bodybuilding Championship in Brazil in November.

Mr Yartey also bemoaned the lack of support from the National Sports, Authority and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, saying that the organisation of the Man Ghana competition had drained their pockets.
