Amenyo, Mona grab MTN classic golf

Former Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Felix Owusu Adjapong and wife Adelaide emerged winners in their earlier contest in the MTN Classic golf competition but they could not beat Peter Amenyo and Mona Myers Lamptey for  the ultimate at the Tema Country golf course last Saturday.

Amenyo, who won the ultimate in the men’s Group A, scored a net of 68 while lady golfer, Mona, who had dominated the ladies golf competition, appeared to have rediscovered her winning ways following her 72 net with handicap 10. 

Ekow Nyarko lost to Amenyo on count back after he registered a net score of 68 while Patrick Tender scored 69 to place third in the Men’s Group A competition.

Adelaide Owusu Adjapong lost to Mona on count back after she netted 72 with a handicap of 18, while Aku Yabah, who placed third, scored a net of 73 with a handicap of 18. Naomi Addo and Gladys Awuni came first and second in the ladies Group B with a net score of 74 and 73 respectively.

Felix Owusu Adjapong who placed third with his net score of 73 in the Men’s Group B trailed Chris Aidoo who won with a net score of 67 and a handicap of 28 and Joe Dadson who scored 70 net with a handicap of 19.

The Chief Marketing Officer of MTN, Asher Yaqub Khan, expressed happiness that the telecommunication giants had been at the forefront  of organising some important golf competitions in the country including the Asantehene Gold Cup and CEO’s invitational tournament.

He said MTN cherished the relationship it had established with its customers over the years and was hopeful that through the golf competition, they would continue to strengthen that relationship.
