Ashgold grab Nuhu brothers

Ashgold CEO, Kudjoe Fianoo has disclosed that sensational New Edubiase United twin brothers, Fuseini and Alhassan Nuhu, are set to complete a two-year switch to the Soccer Miners next season, with a deal expected to be finalised this week.

According to Mr Fianoo, the duo are being brought in to augment Coach Bashir Hayford's squad ahead of a two-pronged pursuit in next season's First Capital Plus Premier League and CAF Champions League.

Defensive midfielder Alhassan and striker Fuseini bagged a total of 17 goals last season (Fuseini scored 13 to finish third in the goal-king race) and were instrumental in Edubiase finishing in eighth position in the just-ended season.

Mr Fianoo also disclosed that the capture of the exciting duo would bring to four the number of players signed by Ashgold, having already snapped up young Cornerstone forward, Dauda Mohammed, on a three-year deal and Heart of Lions’ Awudu Yakubu for the next two seasons.

The Ashgold boss explained the rationale behind his club's strategy in the transfer market, saying, "Our coach gave us a list, so if we miss out on the first target we move to the second.

"We have two tough contests ahead of us and if you engage in Africa without a quality squad you will be seen wobbling in the league".
