Bofoakwa target victory against Accra Lions
Bofoakwa Tano have set their sights on breaking the string of drawn matches in order to reclaim the top position on the betPawa Premier League table when they host Accra Lions at the Sunyani Coronation Park today.
Following a promising start to their campaign, Bofoakwa has experienced a series of three consecutive draws against Heart of Lions, Bibiani GoldStars, and Karela United. "I'm very sure we will win this Friday’s game. We have to score, we need to win this game," he said after the team's training in Sunyani yesterday.
Chain of draws
The coach said he was very much concerned about the three draws, and gave the assurances that the team was working diligently to rectify their scoring challenges, having failed to score in their last three matches.
"Almost every day and every week we try to work on our weaknesses to improve on our finishing".
"For me as a coach, I know that you have to look at your weaknesses and try to work on them," the Bofoakwa coach said ,while acknowledging a competition-wide problem with goal-scoring. "Maybe defenders are doing very well which makes it difficult for strikers to score."
Currently fourth on the log but level on points with the top three sides, Bofoakwa are unbeaten at the Coronation Park where they defeated Real Tamale United and Hearts of Oak, and were held to a scoreless draw by GoldStars on October 14.
Lions, bottom on the league log, are winless in their last three games and winless on the road this season after draws against Medeama SC (2-2) and Berekum Chelsea (1-1), and lost 0-3 loss to Great Olympics.

Despite the poor run of his opponents, Coach Frimpong Manso admitted that technically Accra Lions were one of the best teams in the league because the players could keep possession for a long time.
"We cannot underrate them because they have lost their last two games and say they are a bad side. We need to work hard to win; we respect them a lot," Manso said.
Home support
The coach advised the home fans not to exert excessive pressure on the players, especially when their opponents were in control, as it could empower the opposition and shift the game's momentum.
Coach Frimpong Manso will have available for selection Saaka Dauda, who has netted two goals at home, Benjamin York, Blessing Dana, Bright Kyereh, Andrews Kwadwo Appau, Clement Ansah and Najib Fuseini Ibrahim.
