CAF admits Zanzibar as a new member
The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has admitted a new member into its fold - Zanbibar, at the continent’s 55th General Assembly on Thursday, March 16.
Zanzibar, becomes the 55th member of CAF and has also attained the membership of Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).
Their admission was by popular acclamation, by the mebership of the General Assembly.
President of Zanzibar Football Association Ravia Idarus Fahinda, commended members of CAF, for supporting their affiliation and membership.
Zanzibar, is a semi autonomous part of Tanzania in East Africa. It is composed of Zanzibar Archipelago, in the Indian Ocean off the coast of the mainland.
It consists of many small islands and two large ones; - Unguja the main Island referred to Zanzibar and Pemba, with capital as Zanzibar City.
