Captain's tribute: Jordan Ayew thanks teammates, coaches, and Ghanaians

Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has issued a profound and wide-ranging message of thanks, expressing his "deepest gratitude" to the nation for its "undiluted support" throughout the successful 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign.

In a detailed statement, the skipper meticulously acknowledged every pillar of support behind the team, from his fellow players to the passionate fans across Ghana. 

"I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you," Ayew's message began. Addressing his teammates directly, he wrote, "our dedication, hard work, and commitment to the team have been inspiring." he also reserved significant praise for the technical team, stating, "to the coaching staff, thank you for your guidance, expertise, and tireless efforts."

The captain's gratitude extended to the football administration and the government. 

He thanked the Ghana Football Association for "providing us with the platform to represent Ghana on the global stage" and acknowledged the government of Ghana for its "unwavering support and encouragement."

Ultimately, his message was directed at the people of Ghana, whom he credited as a driving force. The Black Stars secured their passage to the 2026 finals, to be held in Canada, Mexico, and the USA, by topping Group I, sealing their fifth FIFA World Cup appearance.
