Evolve and Royal King Punjab claim narrow wins in Ghana Cricket Association league
The Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) league served up two thrilling encounters over the weekend as Evolve secured a dramatic three-wicket victory against Carel Super Kings Cricket Club (CSK) in Division One, while Royal King Punjab edged Achimota Cricket Club by six runs in the Division Three T20.
In the Division One clash, CSK posted 82 all out in 16 overs, with their batting line-up struggling against disciplined bowling. Evolve’s chase was far from straightforward, but they eventually reached the target in 17.3 overs with three wickets in hand.
Navalekar Anil was named Player of the Match for his impressive all-round display.
The Division Three T20 encounter proved equally tense. Royal King Punjab, having elected to bat first, managed 99 all out in 19.4 overs.
Achimota Cricket Club came close but fell short, finishing with 93 all out in 19.2 overs. Rizwan Shakir was adjudged Player of the Match after scoring 12 runs off nine balls, including one six, and delivering with the ball by taking two wickets for 30 runs in four overs.
The results keep both Evolve and Royal King Punjab in contention in their respective divisions, adding further excitement to this year’s league.
The next round of matches is scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Achimota Cricket Oval.
