Launching the competition at the Media Centre of the Accra Stadium last Friday, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the La-Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA), Rita Odoley Sowah, urged the organisers to ensure that more women got involved in playing cards competition.
"I have the heart for sports, so I can tell you that playing cards is the best way to reduce stress especially after a hard days work", the MCE said.
The CEO of Media 2 Concepts Steve Bortier alias DJ Lalo in his address explained that playing cards had the potential to promote unity and diversity among all Ghanaians, while thanking Cowbell Ghana Limited for aiding that cause.
The draw for the competition threw up some interesting fixtures including inaugural champions, Wantu Wazuri playing Unity Club, France 98 versus Flying Eagles, Salem Base International against Argentina and Young Stars locking horns with Dadekotopon.
