Micro Finance, Sinapi Aba Savings and Loans, Metro Mass Transit Limited and Apenkwa Micro Finance, all in Swedru.

The disciplines they competed in were football and volleyball.

At the end of the first round of matches, GCB qualified from Group A, Adehyeman won Group B, while J.H. Micro Finance and Sinapi Aba qualified from Group C.

In the semi-final matches GCB beat J.H. Micro Finance 3-2 on penalties, while Adehyeman also won 5-4 on penalties against Sinapi Aba.

In the volleyball competition, Swesco staff defeated Adehyeman two straight to win the competition.

Each of the participating companies was given a certificate of participation, while the first and second winners in both disciplines received special certificates.

The head of sports at Kantinka FM, Mr Ampoful Adjei Kumi Wilson, told the Graphic Sports in an interview that the objective of the games was to create a friendly relationship among particularly the financial institutions who render similar services to their numerous clients.

He said that the games were also to provide a unique opportunity for, especially the banking institutions, to interact with the public and sell their various services to them.

According to him, due to the sedentary nature of their work, the employees are unable to embark on physical exercises and that the games were to enable them to exercise in order to reduce the stress they regularly go through.

He assured the participating companies that the games would be institutionalised as an annual event.

The coordinator for the games, Mr Joshua Lamptey, stated that his outfit would ensure that more companies would be brought on board in the second edition to make the competition more competitive.

Mr George Marmon-Halm, the GCB branch manager at Agona Swedru, was adjudged the best and discovery player at the end of the competition.
