Volta referees ready for league return
The leadership of the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG) in the Volta Region has kept its members busy to keep them in shape in the absence of the football league.
While it is still unknown when the league will resume, the region has drawn a detailed programme to help referees to remain fit, reduce in weight and improve upon their abilities in preparation for the resumption of football activities.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, a Class One referee and the Regional Technical Instructor, Mr Shine Ayitey, said the exercise was to help the officials to improve upon their performance and avoid any surprises should the league start anytime soon.

For instance, premier league referees have refreshed their minds with discussions on the laws of the game to help get a sound footing for the second phase of the competition.
Mr Ayitey noted that it had been exciting working together to bring out the best out of his men who were poised to implement the rules accurately when duty called.
“My premier league referees have been challenged and they will deliver appropriately, looking at the kind of work undertaken during the break. Their confidence level is also high,” he stated.
