Ghana Premier League Week 8: Top performers honoured with Nasco Man of the Match Awards
Ghana Premier League (GPL) match week eight saw thrilling match-ups across the country as standout players not only claimed the title of Nasco Man of the Match but also received Nasco prizes, including sleek mobile phones and grooming sets.
The week kicked off in Sogakope with Legon Cities facing Accra Lions in a goalless draw. Jacob Gildas Awoute, whose skillful play contributed to the tense match, was named Nasco Man of the Match.

Sunday’s fixture brought Nations FC to a resounding 3-0 victory over Vision FC at Abrankese. Faisal Charwetey stole the spotlight, netting two goals and earning the Nasco Man of the Match award, with teammate Danso adding the third.
In Nzema Anyinase, Baseke Holy Stars rallied to a 1-1 draw against title contenders Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Prince Tweneboah claimed the Nasco Man of the Match title after scoring the game-saving equalizer in the 82nd minute.
Meanwhile, Young Apostles took advantage of a first-half red card for Dreams FC, securing a 1-0 win with a second-half goal from Lomotey Agbloe. A strong defensive showing by John Attah Junior Afram earned him the Nasco Man of the Match.
In Kpando, Hearts of Lions edged out Nsoatreman with a 1-0 win, thanks to a goal by Nana Oppong. Yet it was Christian Agyenim Boateng who took home the Nasco Man of the Match honor for his outstanding performance.
Defending champions Samartex triumphed over Berekum Chelsea with a single goal at home in Tarkwa. Isaac Afful’s solid gameplay throughout the match earned him the Nasco Man of the Match title.
Bechem United and Karela United battled to a scoreless draw at Bechem Park, where Francis Acquah of Bechem United was named Nasco Man of the Match.

In a surprising result, Accra Hearts of Oak fell 0-1 to Bibiani Gold Stars at Legon. Emmanuel Kobi was awarded Nasco Man of the Match, despite teammate Attah Kumi scoring the game’s sole goal for Gold Stars.
Finally, Aduana Stars faced off against Medeama FC at the Agyeman Badu Stadium in Dormaa Ahenkro, ending in a thrilling 2-2 draw. Abdel Latif Bamba of Aduana Stars received the Nasco Man of the Match award for his standout efforts.
