The victim, identified as Nat Dodoo, is the General Secretary of Chapter 158 of  the National Chapters Committee of Hearts supporters at Techiman.

According to an eye witness account, but for the timely intervention by some Hearts supporters and security personnel at the scene, who whisked him (Dodoo) to the Techiman Police Station, something fatal would have been recorded.

Dodoo, he recounted, had gone to the Ameyaw Ekumfi Park to watch a Division One League game involving Berlin FC and Guan United but was later accosted by irate fans of Techiman City who claimed he had planted juju behind one of the posts.

They insisted that Dodoo was also a spy, who had come to the venue on a Hearts mission to expose their team’s secrets to the Phobians.

The victim was kept at the police station for hours before he was released to avoid any further attacks on him.

The incident was one of the side shows that preceded the top clash between Hearts and Techiman City at the Ameyaw Ekumfi Park at Techiman yesterday which raised tension to unbearable limits.

Before that, Micky Charles, the president of Techiman City, had demanded that players of Hearts be subjected to a doping test because of their display of extraordinary stamina on the field.
