The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) arrested 10 suspected drug offenders during a coordinated intelligence-led operation across several communities in Cape Coast.
The operation, which targeted alleged drug trafficking and abuse hotspots, was carried out in Pedu, Victoria Road, the University of Cape Coast area, Downtown, and other strategic locations. Officers conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations, leading to the arrest of the ten suspects and the retrieval of items believed to be connected to illegal narcotics activities.
In a statement posted on its Facebook page, NACOC said the suspects, both male and female, are aged between 24 and 55 years. The seized exhibits are expected to undergo further examination as part of the Commission's investigations.
The operation forms part of NACOC's ongoing efforts to combat the illicit drug trade and enhance public safety, underscoring the Commission's commitment to dismantling drug networks and reducing the availability of illicit substances within communities.
The suspects are assisting with ongoing investigations and will be processed in accordance with the law.
NACOC urged the public to continue providing credible information to support efforts to curb drug-related crimes across the country.
