Water Supply to be interrupted for 24 Hours on July 9; See the affected areas

Ghana Water Ltd has announced a 24-hour shutdown of the Dodowa Booster Station from Thursday, July 9, 2026, to allow its engineering team to undertake scheduled maintenance works aimed at improving operational efficiency and reliability of the water supply system.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, July 7, the company said the exercise would result in a temporary interruption of water supply or reduced water pressure throughout the maintenance period.

Customers in communities supplied by the Dodowa Booster Station will be affected. The affected areas include East Legon, Adjiringanor, Ashaley Botwe, Madina, Adenta, Oyarifa, Frafraha, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Ashongman, Dome, Dodowa, and all adjoining communities served by the station.

Ghana Water Ltd has advised customers to store sufficient water ahead of the planned shutdown and use the available supply judiciously throughout the maintenance period.

The company assured the public that its engineers will work diligently to complete the maintenance exercise within the scheduled timeframe and restore normal water supply immediately upon completion.

Management regretted the inconvenience the temporary interruption may cause and expressed appreciation for the patience, understanding, and cooperation of customers.
