Hockey League: Sapholda ride on

Sapholda maintained their stranglehold at the  summit of the Dwadifo Adanfo Hockey League standings with a 3-1 victory over defending champions, NDK Financiers, last Saturday at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium.

The win sent Sapholda six points clear ahead of their closest rivals Multistix, who were not in action  at the weekend.

 Sapholda  fell behind to a stroke from NDK’s Rudolf Sowah in the 14th minute before equalising in the 24th minute through James Mason, leaving the sides level at half-time.

In the closing stages of the second half, Sapholda’s dominance in possession produced two goals in the space of eight minutes, with Alfred Armah scoring their second in the 61st minute before Gad Oblitey settled the game with a fierce low drive in the 69th minute.

In another intriguing encounter, Young Financiers defeated La Juniors by 1-0 to head to the top of the junior’s league. 

In other results Citizens defeated Veterans  2-0 and Ark Boys drew 2-2 with Legonites.
