Jordan Ayew powers Villa to Telford victory
Ghana striker Jordan Ayew’s impressive performances for Aston Villa in pre-season continued as he scored a goal and assisted another in their 2-1 win over AFC Telford on Saturday.
The National League North side looked on course to beat their more high-profile opponents, as they led through Dave Hibbert’s third minute opener.
But Ayew finally found a way past brilliant Bucks keeper James Montgomery with nine minutes remaining.
After leveling the score, the Ghana International then turned creator. He sent in a delightful cross which was nodded into the net at the far post by Aly Cissokho.
Ayew has now scored three goals in two games for Aston Villa ahead of the English Championship season.
