Knockouts galore at Bukom Fist of Fury

It was a night of knockout last Friday in the second week of "Bukom Fist of Fury" when all four of the professional fights ended in stoppages at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Former WBO Africa super welterweight champion, Theophilus Tetteh, ensured an early bath for his opponent after dispatching Joshua Barnor in the third round of their six-round contest.

Barnor began the fight with an attacking display but soon became tired when an experienced fighter in Tetteh open up in round three and dominated the exchanges with two knockdowns on his way to winning via knockout.

Tetteh in his post-bout interview, showered praises on his trainer, Korley Sulemana, as the boxer attributed his splendid performance to his trainer’s technical know-how and guidance.

He noted that with his trainer behind him, he was ready to face any opponent in his division since Sulemana's technical prowess would propel him to victory.

"I give credit to my coach for a good work done because he was the brain behind this emphatic victory," Tetteh said after his win.

"I am not afraid of any opponent because I am training very hard. The only thing I look out for is to get the opportunity to prove myself," he said.

Richmond Ashley, on the other hand, recorded a third round technical knockout win over Amos Denteh in a super featherweight contest, while debutant Jacob Dickson earned a first round stoppage against Abdul Karim in a super middleweight clash.

Felix Williams stopped his last minute opponent, Albert Okine, in four rounds after Togolese Mouibi Sarouna failed to turn up for their West Africa

Boxing Union (WABU) featherweight title fight.

The three-tier boxing league, which is being put together by the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (GABF), the National Juvenile Board and the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), also involved six juvenile bouts and 16 amateur bouts in its second fight night last Friday.
