Kwame Opoku excited to return to Kotoko – Coach Ogum

Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, has expressed that striker Kwame Opoku is delighted to be back at the club after stints with Moroccan side Olympique Khourigba and Algerian side USM Alger.

Dr Ogum made these remarks during his pre-match press conference ahead of Kotoko's Super Clash against Accra Hearts of Oak, set for Sunday, December 15, at the Baba Yara Stadium, 3 pm.

“He’s a great striker and a fine player. I admire his professionalism, and he’s excited to return to the club and contribute. We know he has a keen eye for goal, and that’s why we’ve brought him back," Ogum said.

“We just need to support him and help him believe in his abilities. He’s a top-quality player, and as a coach, I’m thrilled to have him back at the club.”

Before his departure, Opoku netted seven goals in 16 appearances for Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League. He later scored five goals and provided six assists in 33 games for USM Alger. He has recently rejoined the club on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
