Unbeaten Laryea (13-0-1, 11 KOs) faces Alexander Mejia of Nicaragua (19-9, 8 KOs) in a scheduled eight-round featherweight bout at the Caribe Royale Orlando, Orlando, Florida on November 1 with a keen eye on history.

“I am ready for all boxers in my division, after this fight the whole world will see the real me. I’m going there to prove myself for all to see that there are potential world champions in Ghana,” Laryea told the Graphic Sports.

“I think he is a good boxer, but if you are a good boxer, stay in your lane. Don’t come near me because I will switch you off. I promise to punish him,” he added on his opponent on November 1.

The 24-year-old is trained by world championship coach, Lawrence Carl Lokko, and managed by Sammy Anim Addo, a past manager of Ghana’s all-time goal poacher, Asamoah Gyan, also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Premier League campaigners, Young Apostles.
Laryea believes the time was right for him to pay back for their unflinching support, and that of his fans in Bukom.

“I want to express my gratitude to my coach and my manager, I want to thank Carl Lokko and Sammy Anim Addo, as well as Peter Khan for this opportunity. I’m going to lift high the flag of Ghana and by the end of next year, we should be fighting for a world title,” Laryea promised.

“I want to tell my fans that this is my first time going to fight in the home of boxing so I will prove my abilities very well, they know what I can do. They will never follow me if they don’t believe in what I can do.”
