Liberia FA prez wants FIFA top post

Liberia Football Association chairman Musa Bility has announced plans to stand for the presidency of world football’s governing body, FIFA, saying it is Africa's time to lead world football.

The 48-year-old is the second person to declare his candidacy after former Brazil international, Zico.

Current Confederation of African Football (Caf) president Issa Hayatou is the only African to have previously made a bid to be FIFA president. However, he lost to Sepp Blatter in the 2002 elections.

On June 2, Blatter announced he would step down as president as a corruption scandal envelops FIFA. — BBC
