Liberty hold Hearts

A tactically superior Liberty Professionals side yesterday held Accra Hearts of Oak to a 1-1 draw  in their mid-week First Capital Plus Premier League game played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Liberty dominated the game and should have carried the day but complacency on the part of  their defencemen gave the Phobians the opportunity to cancel their lead in the 84th minute through a header from  Richard Yamoah.

Until that face-saving equaliser, Hearts had laboured for close to 75 minutes  after Liberty took the lead in the 17th minute through Tamimu Muntari.

Playing some exciting passing game much to the admiration of the few fans in attendance, the scientific soccer lads had the urge to  add more goals to easily carry the day but their strikers Benard Arthur, Jafaru Samed and Kennedy Ashia shot wide as they wasted countless scoring chances.

The Phobians lacked ideas and played as if there was nothing at stake providing the defencemen of Liberty an easy task to hold Hearts’ strikers Gilbert Fiamenyo  Kwame Kizito and Richard Yamoah at bay.
