Nenevie wins scholarship
Following his magnificent display at the Westchester Table Tennis Centre, Ghanaian ping-pong star, Courage Nenevie, has been awarded a five-year scholarship by the, Centre.
The player, who returned from a four-month training tour of the USA-based centre last week, is scheduled to leave by the end of the month to begin the five-year training and coaching career.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic last Wednesday, the Ghana Armed Forces officer said he was pleased to have received such honour from one of the best table tennis training centres in the world.
He said the scholarship came by dint of hard work via winning five top awards to become the first Ghanaian to achieve such feat in ping-pong in the USA.
“My success over there was as a result of hard work and good attitude I showed”, he said, and praised the Centre for the wonderful opportunities they offered him and how well they took care of him.
While expressing gratitude to the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA), Devine Travel and Tour and Royal ventures for their support, Nenevie said he was certain he would impart the exposure he received to up and coming ones.
In order to encourage the young ones to reach the height of their career, he is expected to present some equipment to the GTTA to aid in their preparation for the World Championship, as well as to help organise training sessions for the young ones to improve on their skills.
