Nestle donate sports shoes to schools

About 20 schools in  the country have received sports shoes from Nestle Ghana in fulfilment of a promise the company made at the 28th edition of the Accra Milo Marathon.

At the last edition of the marathon held on September 21  last year, the beverage company promised to donate sports shoes to less-privileged communities based on the number of families who took part in the 5-kilometre fun race.

So far, the company has presented 1,400 pairs of shoes to schools in the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Western and the Central regions of Ghana with the rest expected to receive theirs during the Zonal events of the 2016 U-13 Milo Champions League.

Marilyn Ofori, Brands Manager at Nestle, in a statement said,“The Milo Shoes donation project has become a major component of the annual Accra Milo Marathon since it highlights the company’s belief in giving back to society within which it operates its business”. 

The project is expected to donate 3,500 pairs of sports shoes to schoolchildren in deprived communities. So far, beneficiary schools includes Apagya R/C Primary, Dompoase D/A Exp. Manso Nkwanta Mehodist Primary, Duayaw Nkwanta R/C Primary, Yawmetswe Primary School, Nkwantakesedo and Bamienko D/A Primary.
