Nigeria's U-20 team, the Flying Eagles, narrowly defeated Ghana's U-20 squad, the Black Satellites, in Wednesday night’s WAFU B U-20 final at Stade Kegue in Lomé.
Both teams had already secured their spots in the upcoming U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) by reaching the final.

However, the fierce rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria added extra stakes as they competed for the prestigious title of Zone B WAFU Champions.
Nigeria took the lead when Kparobo Arierhi scored in the 34th minute, giving the Flying Eagles an early advantage.
Just before halftime, Kparobo netted his second goal, extending Nigeria's lead as Ghana struggled to match their intensity.
In the second half, despite Ghana's determined efforts, they couldn't find a way back into the match, with Nigeria controlling the pace of the game.
However, 15 minutes before the final whistle, Ghana's standout player, Jerry Afriyie, scored his fifth goal of the tournament, setting the stage for a tense finish.
Nigeria’s defense held strong under pressure, allowing them to secure the WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship title.
