Okwawu, Olympics charged with misconduct

The Ghana Football Association's Prosecutor has charged Okwawu United and three of their players with misconduct,  following their play-off fixture against Great Olympics at the Len Clay Stadium on April  29, 2014.

Seth Twum Barimah, Nanabenyin Francis and Wonder Kudevor, all players of Okwawu, face two separate charges each of misconduct and violence for allegedly assaulting the referee who handled the match.

The players were also alleged to have insulted and threatened the referee after the match. They  have until 5pm next Wednesday to respond to the charges.

Furthermore, Okwawu has been charged with three counts of misconduct and violence.

The club  was charged with misconduct after some of their supporters allegedly  pelted the Olympics bench with sachet water.

Some of their reserve players and technical team members  were also alleged to have rushed on the match officials  to assault  them.

Meanwhile, the team manager of Olympics, Nii Ayi Mensah, has also been charged with two counts of misconduct and violence after allegedly throwing stones into the opposing supporters in reaction to his side's bench having been pelted with  water sachet. — ghanafa.
